Ryan McKenna
Ryan specialises in WordPress development, WordPress optimised web hosting and app development.
Ryan, from Inverness, joined WePurpose in 2021 through an Apprenticeship in Computer Science with QA and has since become an expert in building websites and managing hosting infrastructure for clients.
‘I’ve always been drawn to computers and programming. For me, it’s about the challenge, like putting pieces of a puzzle together to find a resolution. Completing my Apprenticeship gave me a huge sense of achievement. I now build and host websites for businesses including charities and small enterprises, assisting with any issues they face.’
On working with clients, Ryan says, ‘Each client has unique requirements. The most common issue I see is a broken website, often made in a rush, which needs fixing right away. I work to ensure their site is fixed and futureproofed. We aim to take away the headache. Once you give us access, we do the rest!” Other clients want to understand how things are run, and in these cases, I help foster understanding and provide training.’
Working at WePurpose has allowed Ryan to continue supporting people to have the opportunity he had ‘many moons ago.’ A big part of it is that he cares about the social purpose of the company and giving opportunities to others. As the company grows, he looks forward to working with those coming up the ranks.
Outside of work, Ryan is a big animal lover. His dog Poppy, an eight-year-old black and white Jack Russell, loves walks around the islands of Loch Ness and is a big fan of belly rubs and bumblebees.
